We disassemble the mechanism, clean and fit new items from our standard service kit including Video head assembly, Pinch roller, Belts, Capstan Brake, Tension band, Head cleaner unit, Clutch assembly, Idler assembly, Belt tension roller, Head hour meter.

In addition to our standard kit we inspect and replace** if required all other mechanical items including Audio/Control head, mechanism cams, gears, tape guides, impedance rollers, sub loading arms and, where available, missing or broken flaps and button assemblies. We recondition / replace** the lower drum assembly and capstan / loading motors when required.

We check and re-lubricate all gears, mechanism slides, tape guide runners using specified lubricants.

We carry out a full mechanical & electronic set-up and alignment to manufacturers specification, reset electronic head usage meters and test all functions including S-VHS and audio.

We run the unit in overnight and test all functions again to specification using our quality control checklists. On successful completion we clean the unit and package it in a tough plastic poly-liner ready for return delivery.
